This class is offered by the Town and Country Kennel Club and is targeted towards puppies between 12 weeks and 6 months of age.

Most canine behaviorists agree that the young puppy can learn obedience skills easily and with a great deal of enjoyment, providing the methods used are gentle, fun, patient, and non-regimented. The socialization provided in this class helps puppies adjust with less stress to strangers, other puppies, and new experiences, as well as different environments, sounds, and smells. Puppy class is designed to mold and shape the behaviors of the young puppy so he becomes sociable, gentle, and mannerly.

The obedience class encourages you to teach your puppy what is acceptable and desirable while developing a working relationship in which he learns to love and respect you. New skills are introduced in a way that promotes understanding for the puppy in a non-threatening, controlled manner. Taking the time to teach understanding of skills before introducing corrections provides a solid basis for his trust and respect towards you. Lessons are structured to fit the shorter attention span of puppies while still providing the basic obedience skills required for a good canine citizen.

Conformation classes provide an opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals of dog handling so you can show your own dog at conformation shows. The fundamentals include gaiting your dog at a proper speed, making smooth turns and stops, and setting your dog into a proper pose for examination by a judge.

Conformation Classes are offered at the Town and Country Kennel Club EVERY Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Class format is "Drop-in". Come for 10 minutes or the whole 2 hours, whatever suits your schedule!

Classes are open to all skill levels from Novice to Advanced and 4-H'ers, too!

Adults: $10 Children/ 4-H'ers: $5 /TCKC Members: $8

This class is offered by the Town and Country Kennel Club and is designed for young puppies that are less than four months of age. The class focuses on early puppy training and is not meant to be an obedience class. However, puppies can learn at an early age, and the techniques taught in this class will serve as a basic foundation for your puppy's continuing education.
